I knew I wanted to make a Spring Quilt with my Echo fabric collection, but a quilt seemed impossible to tackle.
With a new set of twins on the way, I figure our camera is going to get a lot of use in the coming months. I've been wanting to make myself a new camera strap, ever since I made one for Liz. I could use my Echo fabric on the camera strap, and that could be a little preview for when I had enough energy to make it into a quilt...
This project only takes a few hours. Maybe only two? It was the perfect project to add a bit of joy to my life at that particular time. And, it continue to bring me joy every time I look at my camera! If you want to make one, here's the tutorial I've used twice. This time the only thing I did different was instead of using interfacing, I used batting. I thought a bit of padding on the strap would be kind of nice. Next time, I think I'll use both batting and interfacing. Especially if I use quilters cottons again. If you used home dec weight fabrics, you might omit the interfacing.
Also, if you are making one for yourself, you don't even need to buy a camera strap. Just use the one right on your camera :)
Great news...I've since found the energy to turn the rest of my Echo fabric into a quilt. Stay tuned in the next few days I'll show you what I've got....
(sorry about the iphone photo, but it's just a sneak peak anyway)
